Campaign to save Theatre Church

In September CATS Youth Theatre began a campaign to raise the funds to purchase the Theatre Church in Astley Bridge, Bolton. We need to raise around £750,000 to buy the theatre, not just for CATS but for all Theatre Church users and for the benefit of the community. The Theatre Church is currently home to 5 amateur dramatic societies, 2 youth theatre companies, 8 dance groups and various community groups. It has been placed on the market this month, and the impending sale by the Methodist Church could result in the facility being lost to those who currently use it and the wider community who enjoy it.

“Our community currently enjoys 8 different shows, 2 plays, pantomimes; various dance shows and numerous community activities every year, all under this one roof. Theatre Church is not just a venue; it really is the beating heart of our community! So we hope that the community and local businesses will really come forward and help CATS to retain the building as a theatre and community facility.”
